Activities
Our policy on “Therapeutic Activities” takes into account each Resident’s interests, skills, experiences, personalities and medical condition. We offer a wide range of activities designed to encourage the client to keep mobile, and most importantly take an interest in life.
Our Activities Co-ordinator prepares a full activities programme in the Home based upon the interests of the Residents currently residing in the home. The Co-ordinator also assists with social biographical data and recording details in their Care Plan.
The activities programme is published each week and accessible to all service users. Activities include:
- Bingo
- Painting and crafts
- Music and movement
- Quizzes
- Hand massages.
We also organise trips outside the Home including nearby Happy Mount Park (during the Summer months) and concerts at The Dome and The Platform.
In addition to the activities programme, Care Assistants will also encourage interaction with the service users including:
- Chatting to individual Residents
- Manicures
- Reading letters, newspapers, magazines
- Maintaining hobbies e.g. crossword puzzles.
