Full day and night nursing care is provided under direct supervision of fully qualified nursing staff in accordance with an
individual care plan. Relatives are encouraged to contribute to this by providing information on the resident's social history, likes, dislikes, and interests, particularly when the resident is
unable to provide the information themselves. The resident's individual needs are constantly monitored and care plans are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
All rooms are equipped with electric, height adjustable, profiling beds to assist the comfort of both residents and staff.
Hoists and other equipment to assist movement of residents are readily available in all areas of the home. Appropriate pressure relief equipment (airflow mattresses, pressure relieving cushions) is
also provided where necessary following ongoing assessments by the nursing staff.
We support clients needing specialist nursing dementia care (sometimes called EMI). Our nurses and care assistants have been
trained in dementia awareness and in dealing with challenging behaviour. The Home has been equipped and decorated to ensure the safety and comfort of residents who suffer from
dementia.
We focus on what our residents are able to do – not what they are unable to do. With the help of the family, we collect a
Personal Life History for each resident, including their hobbies (current or previous) and what they used to do for a living. This enables us provide a person-centred care plan for each resident and
to involve them in activities that they will enjoy.
We encourage families to bring in personal mementoes and pictures so that the resident feels more at home and to provide
talking points and opportunities for reminiscence.
